BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Before finding our Moraware Inventory Reconciliation System (MIRS), the Countertop Shop team exported inventory to an Excel spreadsheet, sorted it, and manually reconciled it with clipboard and highlighter. Inventory was never accurate, and they were constantly searching for pieces that had been pulled and moved but not updated in the spreadsheet.

The Countertop Shop installed Moraware in 2008 and recently integrated the DataBridge MIRS add-on. MIRS provided an accurate method for tracking and reconciling inventory, saving the company both time and employee man-hours.

“With MIRS, a single employee can scan and reconcile our entire inventory in just two hours,” says Melissa Langenderfer, Operations Manager at The Countertop Shop. “When we used spreadsheets to handle it, the process was full of errors and took at least five times as long to complete.”

BENEFITS

Melissa says that the new system simplifies the process of reconciling missing inventory and enables the company to do so more often. “We used to spend an entire afternoon just counting the inventory and even longer to figure out what was missing,” she says. “It was a process we dreaded.”

“Now we can easily determine the locations of slabs and remnants in our warehouse, plus transfer materials among racks, saving us countless hours.”

Accurate reporting is also a big plus with MIRS. “The program runs in real-time and we can easily customize the views. We find the reports user-friendly and easy to read,” adds Melissa.

Testimonial

“Our relationship with DataBridge has been amazing. Our questions are dealt with promptly and answered in detail. We have always been offered a follow-up phone call or web-based training for additional support.

MIRS has been instrumental in saving time reconciling inventory and keeping our inventory up-to-date. It has been a sound investment in improving our business processes.”
